Soothsayer
Soothsayer consists of three young but already established musicians exploring the classic sax-bass-drums trio instrumentation, and having a lot of fun while doing so. Their sound can be described as raw, energetic and risk-taking and shows a diverse range of influences within Post Bop, Hard Bop, Free Jazz and more. The intensity, joy and sense of fellowship in their live sets leaves no audience indifferent.Originally the trio's main inspiration were the Elvin Jones trio recordings, but now the repertoire consists mainly of original music as well as arrangements of ''hidden gems'' and standards.The band has performed many times in Austria and went on tour through Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia. In June 2024 they released their debut album "Paleontology" which features one of Austria’s greatest trumpet players - Daniel Nösig.Soothsayer are:
